A very moving and inspirational service on Wednesday, February 22 at 7:30 p.m. will be held at the church to mark the beginning of Lent.

Lent is the period of preparation for the celebration of the greatest Christian mystery, the death of Christ on Good Friday and His Resurrection on Easter Sunday. It is a 40-day period marked by prayer, fasting, and abstinence,  and almsgiving.

The Bible does not mention Ash Wednesday or the custom of Lent, however, the practice of repentance and mourning in ashes is found in 2 Samuel 13:19; Esther 4:1; Job 2:8; Daniel 9:3; and Matthew 11:21

If you have not attended this service that Pastor Janet prepares for us, you must come.  You will go away filled with great emotion.

Come, prepare yourself for Lent and be ready to rejoice the Resurrection of our Lord.
